Unclear if they changed the article's title, but "How we saved millions on AWS" may be a more useful and informative HN title for passersby.
Hn will automatically drop “how” from the title
The user does have a few minutes to edit, and add it back.

The easiest way to save on massive AWS costs is... not to use AWS.
Just because you saved millions on AWS spend doesn't mean finance will not lay you off as soon as they see fit.
You can put that on your resume and talk about it in your interview, maybe that will increase your next salary (or reduce your chances of being hired)
True of any job in any department.
