“ A month later, with the husband’s OnlyFans spending now at $80,000, he assaulted her again, according to his arrest warrant affidavit prepared by a police detective. She told Reuters she was picking up their son from a visit when, the affidavit says, her husband chased her into the bathroom, smashed her head against a mirror and tried to strangle her.”

    Is this really on OnlyFans?

Yeah I don't know if a dramatic outlier is the best way to understand the subject. This family was headed for a bad outcome one way or another.

Yeah, the violence in the story seems to be the next level. The story does not state whether there was violence before or not, but it seem to jump directly to attempt to kill her.

It is not the creators who upsell premium content. The scale is unmanageable. It is an army of men responding to the chat requests, paid nearly nothing, regularly subject to wage theft and working on commissions. There was an article here about it a month ago.

Signs of a sick society. Real sad to see this stuff.

Parasocial relationships started with TV. My boomer parents have nearly zero community and have multiple TVs on all day.

OnlyFans might be an upgrade from this type of relationship, but both are meaningless fantasies. Long term natural selection will play out.

This reads like a classic outrage-sentiment story, that has nothing to do with the actual subject - OnlyFans. Their stories are about:

            * Abusive partners who burn money on addictions (OF, drugs, alcohol)

            * Users who may know the OF (porn) creator in real life

            * Superfan who stalks OF creator (influencer) on instagram, but continues to take $10k+ of their money

The only thing that can be blamed on OF is the ease with which both creators and users can exchange money. Not sure how to blame the rest of this common malaise on OF.

Gambling is heavily regulated, in many places most of profit going to charity. Why not this?
