The actual magnitude and brightness of comets (especially novel ones) are difficult to predict, but the NASA/SOHO Coronagraph is witnessing some dramatic images as Tsuchinshan transits the Sun, coupled with large CMEs.
Go here, and call up the C3 sensor's data from Oct. 08-12 or so!
