I briefly worked in loss prevention at a major US retail box store. I was very surprised at the number of times the local PD came in to make arrests for outstanding warrants vs for theft. I suspect there is a symbiotic relationship between the corporation and LEO but I didn't stay long enough to validate whether or not they were screening via Clearview or something similar.
